INDEPENDENCE DAY

The last holiday of Vietnam in 2016 - September 2nd was approaching.

How do you spend your holiday?

Restaurant staffs also seem to look forward to that day. (Dr's Cafe & Restaurant HIRO will be business as usual)

From the Independence Day, not only Ho Chi Minh city, but Vietnam also have been developing significantly, hasn’t it?

With me, this is the first time I enjoy a holiday since I came to Vietnam, so I am really excited.

According to the information on the internet, in the town, such as, the front of residential building, detached house and balcony of mansion were hung with the national flag.

However, restaurant staffs and employees of shopping mall still work on such a public holiday.

Therefore, this time, we would like to introduce a little bit about the payment of working hours and overtime pay in Vietnam.

In Vietnam labor law:

- Working hours: 8 hours a day, 48 hours a week (also works on Saturday)

- Overtime pay:

Weekdays: 150% (for night work): 200%

Holidays: 200% (for night work): 270%

Public holidays: 300% (for night work): 390%

- Holiday: more than a day off per week.

The surprising point is extra wages.

Working overtime on public holidays at night time, employees can receive 390% and unprecedented bonus.

There is a few holidays → everyone wants to take days off→ rising overtime bonus → company is not business → enjoyable holiday.

The reason for the increase of Vietnam holidays is here, isn’t it?
